How is Jharkhand Electricity Bill Calculated?
The Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) sets domestic tariff slabs (DS-II Domestic Urban). For example, if a consumer in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, or Bokaro consumes 250 units with a 1 kW load (exceeding free unit limit):
- First 200 units @ ₹4.25 = ₹850.00
- Remaining 50 units (201 to 250) @ ₹5.50 = ₹275.00
- Total Energy Charges: ₹1,125.00
- Fixed Demand Charges: 1 kW × ₹75 = ₹75.00
- Electricity Duty (6%): (₹1,125 + ₹75) × 6% = ₹72.00
- Estimated Total Monthly Bill: ₹1,272.00 (Approx ₹1,272)
