How is Chhattisgarh Electricity Bill Calculated?
The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) determines domestic LT-1 tariff slabs. For example, if a consumer in Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Bhilai, or Korba consumes 250 units with a 1 kW load (standard tariff):
- First 100 units @ ₹3.90 = ₹390.00
- Next 100 units (101 to 200) @ ₹4.10 = ₹410.00
- Remaining 50 units (201 to 250) @ ₹5.30 = ₹265.00
- Total Energy Charges: ₹1,065.00
- Fixed Demand Charges: 1 kW × ₹80 = ₹80.00
- Electricity Duty (8%): (₹1,065 + ₹80) × 8% = ₹91.60
- VCA (Variable Cost Adjustment): ₹25.00
- Estimated Total Monthly Bill: ₹1,261.60 (Approx ₹1,262)
Chhattisgarh Half Bijli Bill Yojana
Domestic consumers in Chhattisgarh are covered by the popular Half Bijli Bill Scheme (Aadha Bijli Bill Yojana):
- Under this scheme, domestic households consuming up to 400 units per month receive a 50% flat discount on energy charges directly credited to the monthly bill.
- No separate application is required; the subsidy is automatically applied to eligible regular bill-paying consumers with clear dues.
- If monthly consumption exceeds 400 units, the 50% concession does not apply and the bill is charged at full standard tariff rates.
