How is Andhra Pradesh Electricity Bill Calculated?
Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) regulates tariffs for domestic consumers (LT-I) categorized into Group A, Group B, and Group C based on annual or monthly consumption levels. For example, if a domestic consumer in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur, or Tirupati consumes 200 units with a 1 kW load:
- First 30 units @ ₹2.65 = ₹79.50
- Next 45 units (31 to 75) @ ₹3.35 = ₹150.75
- Next 50 units (76 to 125) @ ₹5.40 = ₹270.00
- Remaining 75 units (126 to 200) @ ₹7.10 = ₹532.50
- Total Energy Charges: ₹1,032.75
- Fixed Demand Charges: 1 kW × ₹95 = ₹95.00
- Electricity Duty (6%): (₹1,032.75 + ₹95) × 6% = ₹67.67
- Customer Charges & FPPCA: ₹35.00
- Estimated Total Monthly Bill: ₹1,230.42 (Approx ₹1,230)
